Legislative Overview
In October 2006 new legislation was introduced (Euro IV) governing the release of exhaust gases from diesel powered engines came.
This was quickly followed by more stringent legislation (Euro V) and it was implemented sooner than expected in October 2009
The legislation impacted on all vehicles with capacity over 7.5 tonnes and called for significant reductions in the levels of Carbon monoxides, Nitrogen oxide & Particulate Matter emitted from these vehicles.
In September 2014 the emission limits were tightened even further with the introduction of Euro VI legislation.
